WOBURN

RENOVATION - DESIGN & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The client brief was to:

• Modernise the house throughout taking into account the existing brown tones across carpet, aluminium joinery and bathrooms, to ensure cohesiveness and flow thoughout

• Manage project, budget and trades team

• Create and maximise storage area’s

• New open-plan kitchen

• New laundry with improved functionality

• Introduce pops of bold colour.

Our clients had just purchased their new Woburn home when they contacted us. They were looking for a renovations specialist that could design, manage and implement their project, to simplify the process for them. They were overwhelmed by the sheer scale of work that needed to be done and didn’t know where to begin. Approaching Compose meant that they could work with just one point of contact for the complete renovation. We could design, manage and implement the project, with our own trusted trades team, creating the modern home our clients craved while they concentrated on their busy day-to-day life. From the beginning, they trusted Debbie as an expert in her field, allowing her the freedom to take control, knowing that she understood what they were wanting to achieve.

Once the budget had been agreed upon and the client brief captured, Debbie set to work creating a personalised style guide for her clients. They wanted a contemporary, modern feel with mustard and teal colours and expressed a desire to incorporate their love of Orla Kiely’s stem design (as can be seen in the kitchen splashback).

They wanted the flexibility to change furnishings and accessories in keeping with their evolving tastes. We achieved this by creating a neutral base colour with fixtures, fittings and interior paint palette that could easily be enhanced with more transient use of colours, patterns and textures.

A significant step towards modernising this dated, 1980’s home was achieved by replacing the door hardware, changing the lighting and painting all the dated Rimu window frames, internal doors and trims throughout.

By removing half of the dividing kitchen wall, we were able to create an open-plan flow between the kitchen, dining and living areas, while still defining the kitchen zone. With the addition of a stunning timber breakfast bar, it’s now a great spot to congregate.

Other structural changes involved opening up the existing wardrobes and cupboards to maximise storage. Working along side our specialist wardrobe designers, we installed large sliding doors and created unique fit-outs to use every ounce of space available. This was a game changer for our client.

TESTIMONIAL

We completed an extensive house renovation with Debbie. When I say we, Debbie did all the hard work. From the get go she has taken time to understand what we want and need from our home. She has managed to blend practicality with our style and colour pallet to come up with something personalized and unique. After our initial meeting with Debbie we went from being nervous about buying an expensive home that needed a lot of work, to excited about it being our forever home. She has been meticulous in her planning and detail, but flexible enough to incorporate any additional requests we have.

Debbie has access to an impressive array of professional contractors and services we would never be able to arrange ourselves and she has organised them perfectly to execute our plan. What Debbie and Compose have done for us has been invaluable, the savings we have made in time, access to the industry and narrowing our focus was greatly under estimated by us. We are very grateful to work with Debbie and her team.
